Accounting Assistant

Monday – Friday | 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM
Full-Time, Temp-to-Hire | $20–$23 per hour
TrendHR is partnering with a well-established contractor in McKinney, Texas to find an Accounting Assistant. This is a high-visibility role working directly with the company's owner on a daily basis, supporting everything from accounting and payroll coordination to HR and general office administration. This is a tight-knit, hands-on team where your work will be seen and appreciated every day.
What You'll Do
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable in QuickBooks Desktop, including data entry, coding transactions to the correct GL accounts, and keeping records accurate and current
• Prepare and submit invoices and reporting; assist with project billing through Procore
• Coordinate certified payroll reporting in partnership with the company's payroll provider
• Support HR functions, including new-hire on-boarding and employee paperwork
• Manage day-to-day office administration: ordering office supplies, light filing, and keeping the office running smoothly
• Serve as the owner's right hand for daily administrative and accounting needs
What We're Looking For
• 3+ years of recent accounting/administrative experience - AP/AR, invoicing, and general bookkeeping
• Solid understanding of debits, credits, and general ledger coding
• Hands-on experience with QuickBooks (Desktop preferred); Procore experience is a strong plus
• Construction or subcontractor industry experience strongly preferred; familiarity with certified payroll is a plus
• Some HR exposure (on-boarding, employee records) preferred
• Dependable, organized, and sharp - someone who takes ownership and can work independently in a small-office environment
